Interesting fact is that the prize was awarded to him by Mirjana Karanović who also participated in ART FILM FESTIVAL with her movie “A Good Wife”.
In past, the prestigious “Actor’s Mission Award” was awarded to great world actors such as Ben Kingsley, Jeremy Irons, Claudia Cardinale, Isabelle Huppert, and others.
After the screening of his film “The White Suit”, Ristovski held the master class to students and festival’s guests.
The screening of “Underground” – the film in which Ristovski plays the unforgettable role of Petar Popara-Blacky – took place afterwards.

Lazar Ristovski has written two novels:
- The White Suit
- How I won "Oscar"
Lazar Ristovskihas written two novels, an anthology of Serbian love poetry and a book of stories:
Simple stories about birds, love, evil, a river, death, loneliness, doubles, a mirror, suicide, fear, a ship, futility, a bicycle, a tear, joy, generosity, the sea ... seamlessly evolve into strange tales. Into haiku novels. Ristovski enfolds all his stories into melancholy, into fiction, into humor. And he does it, often masterfully, just as he acts in theater and on film.
"The White Suit" - a short novel by Lazar Ristovski was created based on the script for a homonymous film, and represents a final stage of a major creative endeavor, utterly unique in our culture. Ristovski - producer, screenwriter, director and lead actor of the film "The White Suit", now emerges as an author of a novel showing quite clearly that wherever talent and high professionalism are understood, versatility need not be a hindrance in creating works that possess certain artistic value. Similar examples are almost non-existent here, whilst globally actor and writer Sam Shepard could serve as a rough and very charming benchmark.
"How I got the Oscar..." was originally a film script that Ristovski turned into a literary work after the ten-year pause. According to the author, the novel is about all the things that the reader would like to experience in life, but has no courage to. He notes that he experienced everything in a dreamy vision, but to make the reader believe that it's all true he has opted for the form of a hundred-headed slumber. What is unusual is that all the heroes are real, Ristovski is in the foreground of the story, whilst the events are fictional.
